Please remember there are real people on the other side of the screen, and those people may have different feelings and opinions and experiences than you do. Some of them may be tired or having a bad day. Or you might.
You don't have to agree with someone to be civil to them. If you can't be civil to someone, leave them alone.
If you don't wish to interact with someone, or see any of their posts, there are tools at your disposal including mute and block functions.
If someone's posts make you angry or upset, take some time to calm down before you reply. You might also try simply excusing yourself from a conversation and ask them to untag you if you no longer wish to discuss a topic.
When someone asks you to leave them alone, leave them alone. If you feel like you can't control your urge to respond to that person, use the block or mute feature so you won't see their posts and be tempted.
Keep in mind that while you cannot control other people's behavior, you are still responsible for your own conduct, even if you feel someone was rude to you or someone else.
We will not allow abusive or disruptive conduct by or toward users on koyu.space. This includes continuing to engage in conversation with someone who has specifically requested you leave them alone, inciting other users to engage with that person on your behalf, aggregating and posting another person's personal information without their consent, and inciting others to engage with that person on other platforms. Blocking someone and then sitting on the other side of a block and continuing to talk about that person is also a provoking behavior.
Before you post, think about whether this is the kind of thing you would like to see (or would like your mom or kids to see) in the public timeline. There are post visibility settings that give you some control over which timelines your post appears in, and also CW and NSFW buttons to hide specific text and images in your post. Be a good social media neighbor and use these functions when appropriate.
Content not allowed on koyu.space (public and local timeline)
We will also remove any content we judge to be hateful toward specific individuals or groups, or intended to cause or incite harm from the public timeline. This guideline is intentionally vague because we do not intend to play "rules lawyer" on the subject of what it is and isn't okay to say about people. A good rule of thumb is, if you're about to say something you think might fall foul of this rule, you probably shouldn't say it.
If you see content which you believe is in breach of these rules, please report it for review.

Business accounts are allowed as long as they have been approved. Every business account should be requested or they will face suspension. If you need to request a business account, send an e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org. The request will be processed in the next 72 hours. Make sure you register your approved account with the e-mail the request was sent from - usually your business e-mail.
Please remember that nothing on the internet is really private and consider anything you say saved forever. Mastodon is not a secure channel for sensitive communication.
