sub tooting people that can't hear me
I love you Isaac Arthur but no, no amount of post scarcity is ever going to make it a sensible use of resources to just dump nano tech on someone to repair radiation damage instead of... you know... insulating the reactor. that's like imagining a post scarcity future were we deal with cosmic rays by flooding ourselves with regenerative nano tech instead of just building bodies that don't care how much radiation you hit them with.
why does it feel like so much post scarcity rhetoric is just paste for filling in the gaps in un-creative problem solving? I don't want to be on a rad away drip in space I want to rip off my skin and coat myself in liquid metal so I can walk out among the stars like I fucking own them. come on jack.
