Just read a post asking Eugen to resign from developing Mastodon and I really have to ask: what are you folks smoking?
It’s his project. It’s open source. Fork it if you want to. But what kind of mind-blowing sense of entitlement drives you to think you can tell someone they should stop working on something they’ve built?
*smh*
Google is threatening to delete one of my podcast episodes because, they claim, I am spreading "medical misinformation" on COVID-19. This is ludicrous and easily disproved by actually LISTENING to the episode in question. I will fight this tooth and nail.
What happened when I changed the word 'store' to 'upload', and other issues with thieving gits.

CDU in Deutschland: Leider konnten wir #Uploadfilter nicht verhindern.

Für wie naiv haltet Ihr uns, #niemehrCDU?

Here is the second episode of the #postmarketOSpodcast: Roadmap, daily driving and how to help. Now even with a legacy MP3 feed for people stuck on Apple. 😉

Every time you direct somebody to GitHub and ask them to file an issue or use it for some other kind of work (esp. without even stopping to consider whether they even have an account), imagine you have a Facebook group instead, and you're telling them to post in it. Stop and think about why you feel that doing the same thing with GitHub is any different.
Being a GitHub user should not be a prerequisite for public participation.

I was pretty fed up with the behavior of 'df', so I wrote my own diskfree tool.
It's called 'duf', it's written in #golang, and you can get it here: https://github.com/muesli/duf
On ArchLinux, you can simply install 'duf' from the AUR.
Not really the sort of news we wanted to give today, but it's important nonetheless: https://www.pine64.org/2020/09/17/psa-vulnerability-disclosure-2020-09-17/
