@Swiitsh I asked my mother and apparently he's a tree doctor and uses the sound the tree makes to see if the tree is okay or if they need to cut it and replace it with a new tree.
And that's the thing, I wasn't judging him, I was just curious.

sometimes for time-dependent fx like chorus or phasers, there's a small handful of moments on short sounds where it's *just right*. So instead of trying to find the perfect timings, I'll just copy the sound a bunch and render a buttload of variations so I can pick the good ones
expect more in the future, i just like to do ms paint style shitpost

idea, if it hasn't already been done: mastodon frontend where toots by users on other instances use the style and formatting of their instances, so your timeline is a colorful array

A few years ago I made this flow chart of which Mastodon posts end up in which timelines!
So, you can see how each instance will have a different local timeline, and even a slightly different federated timeline - and you can see why the federated timeline moves so much faster than the local one, too.
This is why it's important to boost good posts and use hashtags - the fediverse is fragmented and harder to search by nature.
